Despite the concerns, the episode aired without blowback. In fact, it got “the most fan mail Paramount has ever gotten on Star Trek for a single episode,” Nichols said in a 2010 interview with Archive of American Television. “I would say more about the pioneer, the unrivaled Nichelle Nichols, who shared the bridge with us as Lt. Uhura from USS Enterprise, and who graduated today at the age of 89,” George Takei wrote on Twitter. “For today, my heart is heavy, my eyes shine like the stars you are in now, my dear friend.” Takei plays Sulu in the original Star Trek series with Nicols. But its impact is felt beyond its direct co-stars, and many others in Star Trek the world also tweeted their condolences. Celia Rose Gooding, who is currently playing Uhura in Star Trek: A Strange New World , wrote on Twitter that Nichols “made room for so many of us. He is a reminder that not only can we reach the stars, but our influence is vital to their survival. Forget about shaking the table, he

Disgraced businessman Geoffrey Edelsten dies poor but Brynne wants her share of the rest

Image
The ex-wife of ex-millionaire Geoffrey Edelsten has made a legal bid for what’s left of his tattered estate. Edelsten died poor, alone in his Melbourne apartment, in June last year despite his desperate attempts to portray an image of extreme wealth in his later years. Brynne Gordon – Edelsten’s second wife – launched legal action with the Supreme Court of Victoria this week after being harassed by disgraced doctors in her final will. Edelsten’s final will reveals the dire financial circumstances the famous woman was in before her death – far from the peak of her finances, when she owned the AFL’s Sydney Swans football club and traveled by helicopter. Edelsten would continue to flaunt his wealth until he disappeared from the spotlight. His marriage to Brynne Edelsten (pictured) cost around $3 million Geoffrey Edelsten’s wooden coffin at his funeral in June Edelsten is remembered as a good doctor and courteous concern for everyone he met. Except for those who pass

Walker on, Klemmer dies as Rabbitoh against Knight

A Cody Walker masterclass led the Rabbitohs to a 40-28 win over the Knights at McDonald Jones Stadium on Friday night as David Klemmer was sent off with a fiery finish to a free-flowing contest. With Damien Cook and Cameron Murray on duty at Origin, Walker took charge with two tries, two assists and a 95-yard run as the Bunnies recorded their ninth win of the season to move up to fifth on the ladder. Already missing their Blues brothers, the Rabbitohs lost Mark Nicholls and Alex Johnston to injury ahead of the game, and then Lachlan Ilias had to come off after a head clash with team-mate Tevita Tatola in the opening minutes of the game. Despite an early setback the Rabbitohs opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Cody Walker scooped a loose pass, hit team-mate Thomas Burgess and fell. The try was sent to the bunker to check for a hit by Burgess but the green light was shown and Souths took a 6-0 lead. 599″, “>809”, “>959″]” data-eqio-prefix=”video-post-screen” re
