West Coast coach Adam Simpson refused to put Nic Naitanui and Elliot Yeo on the ice for the remainder of the season, as the injury-plagued pair pushed for a comeback in the remaining five rounds. Naitanui is unlikely to face St Kilda on Sunday, with the Saints also set to be without their own star at Paddy Ryder, while Yeo will play Gold Coast in the round of 20, following a hamstring setback. Naitanui and Yeo have amassed just five AFL games each for the year, with Naitanui succeeding last week after battling knee pain against Carlton in the previous round. “We would have made a proper call for him (Naitanui) but we didn’t pack up and go home, there’s still five more rounds to go,” said Simpson. “If these guys are available, specifically Nic and Elliot Yeo, I think it’s great for them to play.” Camera Icon Elliot Yeo is out with another injury. 'A little kick': Why Warriors put young Walsh guns

The Warriors hope the bench stint will be a learning opportunity for livewire fullback Reece Walsh, with interim coach Stacey Jones believing Chanel Harris-Tavita can offer her team a better performance at the back this Saturday against the Raiders. Walsh, who will leave the club at the end of the year for the Broncos, had been the Warriors’ No.1 first choice since Roger Tuivasa-Sheck left last year, but has now stepped down the pecking order due to his inconsistency. game, which is mostly defense related. Harris-Tavita, traditionally used as a half or prostitute, starred at full-back during the homecoming game against the Wests Tigers in the round of 16 while Walsh was sidelined due to COVID, resulting in several attempted save tackles and contributing heavily in attack. 599″, “>809”, “>959″]” data-eqio-prefix=”video-post-screen” ref=”root”> Next /
