Amazing revelation in the spectacular fall of the fitness giant F45

Image
Sydney’s picturesque seaside manor owned by F45 co-founder Adam Gilchrist will be hammered after the Australian fitness giant’s stunning fall. Gilchrist (not a cricketer), who stepped down as chief executive of F45 last week amid plummeting shares and company-wide layoffs, is selling his “waterfront trophy house” at Freshwater on Sydney’s north coast. The house, 52 Ocean View Rd, rose to prominence in 2018 when Gilchrist and his wife Eli purchased the property for $14 million due to a minor dispute with neighbors. The astrophotography competition presents spectacular heavenly images

With his love of science fiction and photography, it seems that Ian Inverarity has always been destined to become involved with astrophotography. Key points: A mechanical engineer from Adelaide has won this year’s David Malin astrophotography award Amateur astrophotography is booming as a hobby as technology becomes more advanced and affordable This year’s competition entered the smartphone category for the first time Mechanical engineers have been capturing the wonders of the night sky for several years now, traveling to regional South Australia in search of the perfect shot. He said the addictive pursuit took him to Gawler, north of Adelaide, about once a month. And many nights and hours in darkness have paid off, with his photo of an old gum tree at Gawler shrouded in mist before the Milky Way picks up this year’s David Malin astrophotography award in New South Wales. “It’s relatively unusual. Out of the seven years or so I’ve been going there, I...

A fast-moving star collides with interstellar gas, creating a spectacular arc shock

Zeta Ophiuchi’s multi-wavelength view. Credits: X-Rays: NASA/CXC/Dublin Inst. Advanced Studies/S. Green et al.; Infrared: NASA/JPL/Spitzer Zeta Ophiuchi has an interesting life. It started out as a typical massive star about twenty times as massive as the sun. It spent its days happily orbiting a large companion star until its companion exploded as a supernova about a million years ago. The explosion took out Zeta Ophiuchi, so now he was speeding through interstellar space. Of course, supernovae also eject the outer layers of companion stars, so instead of empty space, our intrepid star is also traveling through the rest of the gas. As they say on Facebook, it’s complicated. And that’s great news for astronomers, as a recent study shows. Zeta Ophiuchi is most famous for the beautiful pictures above. By plowing through interstellar gas, the star has created heat shockwaves that shine in everything from infrared...

Birmingham showed off its prowess at the spectacular Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games

Image
As unlikely as it sounds, a giant, mechanical, patchwork bull made of scrap metal has provided the emotional core of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. The “Raging bull” roared into Alexander Stadium midway through the show, pulled in by the underpaid and overworked female chain makers of the industrial revolution. He’s taken to a recreation of the Bullring—a landmark in the city that used to be a market, and is now a meeting place and shopping mall. It is made from parts sourced from local factories, referring to Birmingham’s reputation as a “city of 1,000 trades”, but the way it moves and is emotional touches the heart, as its journey mirrors that of the city. Lorell Boyce’s character, Stella, forms a friendship with a bull. ( Reuters: Hannah Mckay ) It begins with pain and fear, then breaks free from its shackles, experiences cultural tension, and finally rises back into a symbol of light and love, and remains in the center of the ...
