For many people, the conditions are terrible. People are being charged for essential resources and poor radiation shielding has caused genetic mutations. Now the bank faces what is shaping up to be the biggest overhaul of the country’s economic policy in decades, with the RBA’s formal review. The release of the terms of reference for the review by Treasurer Jim Chalmers is imminent. This will mark the bank’s first review since the 1981 Campbell report – when Australians used Bank Cards, people kept $1 and $2 notes in their wallets and mortgage interest rates were capped by the government at the time. A former Qantas baggage handler has exposed the chaos behind the scenes as the airline struggles to save its sinking reputation with travelers experiencing long delays and flight cancellations. The man who chose not to be named claimed that after 1,800 baggage handlers were laid off during the Covid-19 period and work was outsourced to third-party contractors, baggage was left in rooms for weeks and even planes broke down. “Yeah, when the pandemic hit, we got JobKeeper for a while and were given enforced redundancy,” he told Nine’s Today Show. ‘Many men don’t want to go.
