JoJo Siwa’s mother Jessalynn Siwa weighs in on the recent controversy surrounding her daughter and actress Candace Cameron Bure.

Shiva, 47, posted a video in which he describes his daughter’s alleged interaction with Bure when she was 11 years old. The exchange eventually led to JoJo, 19, calling the Fuller House actress the ‘craziest celebrity’ she had ever met in the now-viral TikTok video.

“I talked about this on my podcast a while back,” he posted to Instagram. ‘The story that was recently told wasn’t entirely true, so here’s the actual version. In the end this story is not about this simple photo of how you treat people.

‘True and sincere kindness always goes a long way. It’s easy to quote a Bible verse when everyone is looking at you, but morals are what you have when no one is looking,” he added.

In the video, Jessalyn recounts the conversation between her daughter and Bure. The two briefly interacted at the Fuller House premiere when JoJo asked Bure, who played DJ Tanner on the show, for a photo.

“JoJo met the DJ and said, ‘Oh my God, I love you so much. Can we take a selfie?'” Jessalynn said. “And he’s like, ‘Not now. Maybe later.” Word by word, “Not now, maybe later.”‘ he explained.

‘Fast forward, we go to Kelly Clarkson’s show, which is on JoJo’s day… I went, “If he even asks for a photo please say no now maybe later. Just kidding, don’t say that.” ‘

Asked if there was any interaction that day, he said, ‘No, he just couldn’t be bothered,’ he explained. ‘And you know, maybe she’s had an emergency and her child is crying and she’s trying to get a nanny, I don’t know what’s going on, but it’s funny when you don’t know and someone treats her. you like that? Not now, maybe later?

‘And it’s hard to be a celebrity, I’ll give it to you, but that’s been a long time. I couldn’t even tell you and I still remember it.’

The JoJo-Candace controversy erupted last week after the former Dance Moms star called the Fuller House actress the ‘craziest celebrity’ she has ever met in a now-viral TikTok clip.

Bure revealed in a subsequent Instagram post he ended up calling Shiva over the matter, which explains why he publicly denounced the actress as ‘rude.’

The Full House star said Shiva told her the comment stemmed from an incident when the couple met on the red carpet when the former Dance Moms star was just 11 years old. Shiva claims he asked for a photo of Bure at the time – but Bure told him ‘not now,’ and then never came back for the photo despite moving to take photos with someone else.

Bure, who is a devout Christian, admitted that the teenager’s story ‘broken his heart’, and revealed he offered Shiva an apology, telling him: ‘I broke your 11 year old heart. Know that as a mother, my heart breaks because I made you feel that way.’

‘All is well with JoJo,’ said Candace after summarizing their conversation.

But in a video obtained by Page Six, JoJo accused the actress of ‘not sharing all the details of her meeting’.

‘It was one of those memories that my 11 year old stuck with him. And at the after party he didn’t want to take a picture with me,’ he explained last week.

‘And I was fine with that, but then I turned around, and when I looked back he was taking photos with the other kids. And that’s what really pissed me off.

‘It’s just one of those memories that every time you were a kid, someone said something to you and you never seem to forget it as long as you live.’

“We chatted for about 10 minutes and it was sweet. He apologized and we talked and that was cool. That was great,” he added.
