Latest: Beyonce, 40, has removed a sample of Kelis’ 2003 song Milkshake from her song Energy, following criticism from Kelis, 42, of the sample.

The 2003 hit of Kelis was written by Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo (formerly known as The Neptunes), both of whom were credited on Beyonce’s tracks, although Kelis was not. Beyonce’s website shows that the samples used on the song were interpolated, changing the existing sound for the new song.

Kelis last week accused Beyonce of “theft” for allegedly using samples of songs from her 2003 album Tasty on her new album without permission.

The perpetrator, 42, did not hold back after learning that the superstar, 40, is using a short section of his song, Milkshake, in his forthcoming song, Energy, with the rest of the world.

After a fan account for the Grammy nomination twice posted about the news, Kelis commented that he was shocked by the song’s credits and angry that there was no advance notice.

‘My thoughts are also shattered because the level of disrespect and ignorance on the part of the three parties involved was astonishing,’ he said. ‘I heard about this the same way everyone else did. Nothing is ever as it seems, some people in this business have no soul or integrity and they have all been deceived.’

In response to one comment that Beyonce clearly admired her work, Kelis replied: ‘Admiration is not a word.’

As others expressed excitement about them working together, the mother-of-two, writing under her celebrity chef account @bountyandfull, claimed: ‘This is not a collaboration, this is theft.’

Kelis later took to Instagram calling the track Milkshake ‘one of the most licensed records of our generation.’

He added: ‘I’m a creator, I’m an innovator, I’ve done more than leave my mark on an era of music and style that will go down in history. But there is [bullies] and secrets and gangsters in this industry who smile and get away with it until someone says enough is enough. So I say it today. I came for what is mine and I want reparations. Peace.’

Previously, Kelis fans shouted at Beyonce for ‘removing’ Ring the Alarm from Caught out There.

Beyonce’s forthcoming record will be the seventh she has set during her illustrious career.

‘Creating this album gave me a place to dream and find escape during a time that was scary for the world. It allows me to feel free and adventurous when little else is moving,” she said.

Beyonce added: ‘My intention is to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free from perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, let go, feel free. It was a wonderful journey of exploration.’

He concluded by writing: ‘I hope you find joy in this music. I hope this inspires you to let go of the shake. Ha! And feel unique, strong, and sexy like you.’

Summer Renaissance

Renaissance’s first single, Break My Soul, was previously released to the public on June 20.

The singer worked with several artists, including Big Freedia and her husband, Jay-Z, to produce the song.

The song has received wide critical acclaim from many music critics.

Beyonce initially teased that she was working on new music during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar last August.

While sitting with media outlets, the Drunk In Love singer revealed that the recording process was very difficult.

‘I’ve been in the studio for a year and a half. Sometimes it takes me a year to personally search thousands of voices to find the right kick or snare,” he said.

Beyonce later confirmed that she still loves making music and that she’s excited to be working on new material.

He revealed: ‘After 31 years it’s just as exciting as it was when I was nine. Yes, the music is coming!’

The much-anticipated recording, which is scheduled to be released at midnight on Thursday, can be found online and the CD is already on sale in Europe, according to Variety.

The album leaked on Wednesday.
