The Castle star Michael Caton closes Kyle and Jackie O Show

Top actor HANGS UP on Kyle and Jackie O after car crash interview: ‘No, not much!’

Australian actor Michael Caton slammed the phone when a producer for The Kyle and Jackie O Show tried to call him on Thursday.

‘Intern Pete’ Deppeler called Caton directly, after failing to reach him via rep, to offer a right of answer after KIIS FM host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson said on broadcast that day that she had been rude to her ex-husband at a party two decades ago.

Deppeler explained on Friday how the 79-year-old star from The Castle and Packed to the Rafters exploded at him as soon as he introduced himself.

The producer, who did not record the conversation, recalled how he introduced himself by saying: ‘Hi, Michael. This is Intern Pete from the Kyle and Jackie O…’

Caton didn’t even let Deppeler finish his sentence before getting angry and shouting, ‘No! Not many!’ then hanged.

The Sullivans star may still be pissed at Deppeler after he likened him to American actor Michael Keaton during a red carpet interview four years ago.

Another complaint might be that Henderson claimed on air on Thursday that Caton had been abusive to his ex ‘Ugly Phil’ O’Neil in the late ’90s.

The alleged affair took place at the after party Australia’s People’s Choice Awards more than 20 years ago when Henderson and O’Neil were still married.

‘We love The Castle. At the after party, Phil went and bought a bottle of red wine and brought it to Michael Caton,” Henderson recalled.

‘He said, ‘Man, I just love you and what you do, and I want to give you this bottle of wine.’ [Caton] said, “No, thank you.” So Phil just walked back with a bottle of wine.’

‘I think he actually said worse than that, if I’m honest. A polite way of saying, “Go.”‘

Henderson said O’Neil came back with a sad face, and told him: “Oh wow… that’s embarrassing.”

He then warned his audience: ‘It is very difficult to approach a celebrity you love, because you are nervous and you expect them to be nice to you.

‘You hear horror stories… not all of them are beautiful.’

Daily Mail Australia contacted Caton management for comment but received no response.
