And Christian Wilkins, 26, drew attention to his biceps and lean upper body as he attended the launch of David Jones’ New Zealand Design Edit initiative in Sydney on Wednesday.

The son of veteran entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins wore a quirky yellow and white corset, and mingled with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

Christian teamed a fashion-forward top with a pair of black faux leather pants and black nail-inspired shoes.

She styled her long blonde hair and exuded confidence as she posed for photos.

Christian, who forged his own career in the entertainment industry, was present with his father Richard, 68, and engaged in conversation with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, 41.

The launch of David Jones’ New Zealand Design Edit will see level eight of the Sydney flagship store turn into a New Zealand designer destination for a month starting July 7.

The sighting happened after Richard revealed that he ‘not afraid’ to see her son on the red carpet in a backless dress at the Logie Awards last month.

The Channel Nine star, who defended her son in an emotional Instagram post last month after he was ridiculed online for his Logie Award outfit, told The Daily Telegraph’s Confidential last Sunday that he admired his son’s “courage and style”.

Richard says his son is just having fun with his fashion ensemble of choice.

‘I don’t understand that (parents are not in their son’s corner), but I certainly am. I don’t budge when I see Christian wearing the dress. I don’t think much of it,” she told the dress publication Christian’s Logie Award.

He admits that there was a ‘strange time over the years’ when Christian came down the stairs in clothes he found a bit questionable.

‘It’s not all my cup of tea, I can’t do it. But he did it because he had fun.’

Richard went on to praise his son for ‘shaking things up’ with his bold sense of style.

‘I admire his courage. He has great style. She is a fashion forward. I’m tired of my black suit, black shoes, and bow tie. I didn’t really shake things up, did I?’ he says.

In an Instagram post last month, Richard hit back at criticism after the troll suggested Christian was a ‘disappointment to the family’.

‘So… to anyone who dares to say that I am “embarrassed” in any way of my son Christian.. for whatever reason… you are wrong!’ he rages.

‘I’m so proud!! He was an extraordinary human who would leave his mark on the world long after his detractors had disappeared. I love you unconditionally.’

Christian also hit back at Twitter trolls who criticized his flamboyant outfit.

Anonymous user @SaraVic333 tweeted that it was ‘abnormal’ for men to wear women’s clothes, before adding: ‘STOP normalizing this nonsense**t!!!’

Christian responded to this criticism by mocking the way some people reacted hysterically to men who like to wear dresses.

‘What happened to the world!!!! Masculinity is over!!! Burn everything!!’ he tweeted to rousing support from his Twitter followers.

Many fans praised the Filthy Rich and Homeless star for sporting a feminine look instead of the traditional tuxedo that men love on the red carpet.

Christian flashed his fashion style at its best last month when he arrived on the Logies red carpet in a sheer backless gown.

She wore her long loose blonde hair, opted for a quirky pair of nail-style heels, and was complemented by a dramatic necklace that draped over her back.
