'Stinging' phone knocking between Smart Cleanse heir and boy, 14, in alleged drunken sex act

Celebrity weight loss guru and heiress Savannah Daisley was recorded on secret phone tapping trying to silence the 14-year-old she allegedly raped, police claim.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Kerry-Ann McKinnon told the Downing Center Local Court on Monday that the secret phone call was recorded on the same day Daisley was arrested more than three weeks after she told her mother in June about the alleged sex act.

The police sting comes more than a year after officers accused Daisley of having drunken sex four times in one day with the teenager.

‘This is not a spontaneous act. There have been several disclosures made about feelings before this,” said Sergeant McKinnon, describing the call, which could not be released under a suppression order.

‘There is also an apology. He… tried to shift the blame.

‘He suggested it was mutual… and what the potential consequences would be.

‘He’s guilty of tripping this kid. Remind the child of what the agreement is with regards to keeping it secret.

‘Putting it in some kind of story, fairy tale situation… how it will go away and never come back.’

Judge Alison Viney said Ms Daisley, who had “regularly passed out from the alcohol she consumed” said in the summons that the alleged actions “should be confined to the depths of the ocean in the crate”.

Ms Viney described the tapped call as a ‘very disturbing telephone conversation’ that was conducted on 27 June this year, the same day police successfully filed a listening device warrant and the boy called Ms Daisley.

Police allege the Instagram influencer and the boy had sex four times over a 24-hour period starting at 5 p.m. on May 19, 2021.

The summons came as Daisley, 45, filed for bail on Monday afternoon, having been arrested last month on four counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with a child between the ages of 14 and 16.

Looking glamorous despite wearing prison attire, Daisley also looked tense and anxious as her lawyer Gabrielle Bashir went to great lengths to release her on bail, citing her ‘deteriorating’ mental health behind bars in Australia’s toughest women’s prison.

Bashir said Daisley, who is incarcerated at Silverwater Women’s Correctional Center in western Sydney, risked losing “millions of dollars” from her business while locked up.

The founder of Smart Cleanse, which promotes a 14-day detox program internationally with celebrity endorsements, is currently ‘rebranding’ the product and his parents have invested heavily in a business that is now at risk.

Ms Bashir told the court on Monday Ms Daisley’s mother had ovarian cancer, and that her family would offer $100,000 as bail if she was released on bail.

Gabrielle Bashir told the court that in a previous failed bail application earlier this month, a judge had been falsely informed that the alleged offense carried a maximum sentence of 14 years, when it was only 12.

He argued Ms Daisley had ‘deteriorating mental health in custody’, that she would appear in the AVO issue against her former partner James Wallis and that further imprisonment meant a ‘substantial financial deterrent’ to her ‘million dollar health business. ‘.

Ms Daisley’s father, famed horse breeder Ross Daisley who raced the famous breed Choisir at Royal Ascot, was in court for his daughter’s trial on Monday.

He previously offered to pay a $10,000 bail to free his daughter from custody.

Ms Daisley is a successful entrepreneur and founder of Smart Cleanse – a 14 day program of capsules and strengths that promises to detoxify clients’ bodies, relieve stress, lose weight and ‘reverse aging’.

Ms Daisley’s products are now on sale across Australia after she secured deals with pharmaceutical giant Priceline in 2018, and with supplement giant Mr Vitamins in 2020.

He launched the company in 2014 and quickly attracted a celebrity following, including Neighboring star Jodi Gordon, who appeared in a testimonial video for Smart Cleanse in June 2021 – considers the program her ‘health and beauty secret’.

Daisley usually lives in a $10 million seaside mansion 20 km from the Silverwater prison on the lower town’s north coast.

Judge Viney told Daisley he wasn’t the only person in prison who felt they could handle mental health issues better if they were released.

‘In courtroom after courtroom there are huge numbers of people with very complex needs after life trauma,’ says Viney.

‘The reality is if this were to act as given, the system would be broken and everyone would be released.’

But she decided to give Ms Daisley bail, with strict conditions, including that she surrendered her passport and had no contact with the alleged teenage victim, or any other witnesses.

Daisley’s father applauded in court as bail was granted to his daughter, who burst into tears and thanked the judge.

Daisley had to live with her parents and report to the Moss Vale police station as she awaited trial for child sex offences.

Sergeant McKinnon said prosecutors had a ‘very strong case’, coupled with wiretapped calls, that could see Daisley jailed for up to 12 years for each alleged offence.
