Medal Standings 8.53 pm
Bruce took home the silver in weightlifting after the jury ruled there was no lift Australia’s Kyle Bruce will bag a silver medal in the men’s 81kg weightlifting after judges decided his last lift of 183kg was a no-lift.
Bruce lifted 183kg in his last attempt, and was initially awarded the top spot over Britain’s Chris Murray, but the jury’s review highlighted the buckle on Bruce’s left elbow that ruled it was not a successful lift for Australia.
Chris Murray of England was awarded gold, Bruce silver and Nicolas Vachon bronze of Canada.

McKeown to the final 200m IM By Phil Lutton Kaylee McKeown qualified for the IM 200m final in seventh place.
Not sure what made the swim, he’s battling a shoulder injury and came out of a daring 100m backstroke win last night, so chances are he’s keeping his powder dry enough.
At best he could win this, but Summer McIntosh looked great. The 15-year-old Canadian is the one to beat in the final.

Warm up success for Simpson and Temple By Phil Lutton Solid work from Matt Temple and Cody Simpson in the 100m butterfly warm-up.
No Kyle Chalmers, focused on tonight’s 100m free final, but Temple and Simpson finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Both stories are great in very different ways; Simpson, pop star returning to swimming, Temple, a former blue-collar scaffolder who has become one of the best 100m aviators in the world.

Australia is back in business as a force in triathlon By Michael Gleeson Australia’s place as a force in triathlon has been restored after winning Commonwealth bronze in the mixed relay on Sunday.
Triathlon head coach Justin Drew said the result meant the team could realistically look forward to securing a medal at the Paris Olympics.
The Australian bronze comes after his second in the world series in Hamburg earlier this month. Australia has not won an Olympic triathlon medal since London in 2012.

Things are going well for the Australians in the freestyle warm-up By Phil Lutton Simple things from the Australian women in the 100m freestyle warm-up this morning.
World champion Mollie O’Callaghan was the fastest to qualify for the semi-finals while Shayna Jack and Emma McKeon also qualified safely.
McKeon swam probably the easiest 100m freestyle I’ve ever seen. He looked like he was in a warm-up pool, but was still sixth fastest.

Chalmers scratched from 100m . butterfly By Phil Lutton Some breaking news from swimming this morning, with Kyle Chalmers scratching his 100m butterfly to stay fresh for tonight’s 100m freestyle final.
Not much of a surprise, but after he lost in a very quick semi-final last night, he wants to be right on top of his game as he swims for gold tonight.
Here’s a look at the men’s 200m freestyle final based on everyone’s qualifying time in the semi-finals.

The warm-up is about to start Day four of the warm-up swim begins in Birmingham, with the women’s 200m backstroke warm-up first.
Kaylee McKeown and Minna Atherton are the only two Australians in the 200m backstroke, with McKeown being seeded as the race favorite after he won events at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2022 World Championships in Budapest.
