Rebel Wilson sells her Sydney Harbor home for $9.5 million

Rebel Wilson has sold her Sydney Harbor home for about $9.5 million.

The Pitch Perfect actress, 42, purchased the three-bedroom pad for $3.76 million in early 2015, before asking architect Paul O’Connor for a ‘careful renovation’.

He made a staggering $5.74 million in profit after owning the house for just seven years, reports Realestate.com.au.

Rebel registered the home in March and announced its sale in April, but the sale price and new owner were not disclosed until this week.

The keys have been handed over to Nick Smart, founder of perfume distribution company Agence de Parfum, and her husband Todd Graham, a pet food entrepreneur.

The property was previously owned by writer Peter Carey, who sold it for less than a million dollars in the early ’90s when he moved to New York.

Rebel, who recently started a relationship with sustainable clothing designer Ramona Agruma, wrote on Instagram on April 11: ‘She was sold. Thank you all for your interest in my house in Sydney. Good results overall.’

‘I will miss this house so much! But I hope new buyers like it as much as I do.’

Although he didn’t reveal a selling price at the time, Rebel had previously said he was looking for deals in the ‘$9 million-plus range’.

The waterfront property at Birchgrove, southwest of Sydney, has superb views of the Parramatta River, along with its own jetty and mooring.

Other features include an outdoor pool overlooking the river, a marble kitchen and an internal lift.

“There’s something special about this house, the location, the atmosphere, and I’m sad to see it gone after such a painstaking renovation,” Rebel said earlier.

The former Fat Pizza star will be moving overseas for the next few years for work, and won’t be in Sydney enjoying his lavish harborside home.

He recently moved to London, where he has remained busy with several projects and even hosted a BAFTA.

“I won’t be using it for the next few years as it will be working overseas and would rather other people appreciate it,” Rebel said of his decision to sell.

‘My favorite thing is probably the lift I installed which gives you a view as you go up and down. This is great for boat owners with their own docks and moorings.

‘Or you can see all the boats go by every day – especially at sunset, it’s beautiful. And all the neighbors know what a brilliant road and suburb to live in Sydney is.’

Rebel, who already has a global property portfolio worth $16 million, revealed to The Sun in March that he had bought a new home in London.

‘I had bought a place here so I moved. It’s in London. I like it here,’ he said.

The Bridesmaids star explained that she had just landed a lead role in a British television series, which is why she decided to move on.

‘It’s coming out later this year. It’s serious, like very serious,” he added.
