NRL Late Mail: Round 19

Knights v Roosters, Friday 19:55 at McDonald Jones Stadium

Knight: Dom Young (ribs) came off and was replaced by Hymel Hunt on the wings, while Phoenix Crossland came on for Kurt Mann who continued to struggle with a leg injury. Winger Edrick Lee has overcome a foot problem to play.

Rooster: Joey Manu is out with a quad injury and Drew Hutchison is the man to replace him in midfield. Adam Keighran was put back on the bench just before kick off after initially being appointed in the middle. Luke Keary (concussion) and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (hamstring) are both back to cheer the Tricolors on as they battle their ongoing injury crisis this year.

Raiders v Warriors, Saturday 15:00 at GIO Stadium

Robber: Nick Cotric replaced the suspended Jordan Rapana on the wings while Albert Hopoate replaced James Schiller. Skipper Elliott Whitehead (knee) also returned so Corey Harawira-Naera came on to the bench. There are no changes for the Raiders in their 19-man squad update with Elijah Anderson the 18th Man.

Soldier: Reece Walsh has been knocked off the bench and mid-year signing Daejarn Asi is favored at five-eighth ahead of rookie Ronald Volkman, who was rested last week. Aaron Pene left the team in a 24-hour update, with Eliesa Katoa coming off the bench as his replacement and Edward Kosi being the 18th Man.

Panthers v Sharks, Saturday 17.30 at BlueBet Stadium

black Panther: All seven of Penrith’s Origin stars will return, but Test prop Moses Leota was a late draw in a 24-hour update, meaning Matt Eisenhuth moved to the run-on side and Spencer Leniu joined the bench.

Shark: There have been no changes in the 24 hours from kick off, with Siosifa Talakai returning to center after withdrawing last weekend due to a shoulder injury that occurred in Origin’s decider. Connor Tracey shifted to the wing in place of Sione Katoa, who will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery. Briton Nikora’s return from suspension saw Teig Wilton return to the bench.

Rabbitohs v Storm, Saturday 7:35 p.m. at Accor Stadium

Rabbit: Unchanged on a 24-hour update, with Damien Cook and Cameron Murray both returning after losing wins last week over the Bulldogs. Davvy Moale and Siliva Havili returned to the bench and Daniel Suluka-Fifita to 18th Man. Jed Cartwright has been promoted to the starting team in the middle with Taane Milne out.

Storm: 1-17 on Friday night when the squad was whittled down to 19 men. The loss of Ryan Papenhuyzen to a season-ending knee injury saw Nick Meaney shift from wing to full-back. Tyran Wishart is a new winger and Grant Anderson joined the bench after recovering from an elbow injury, but could be replaced on matchdays by the likes of Tom Eisenhuth or Chris Lewis.

Bulldogs v Titans, Sunday 2pm at CommBank Stadium

Bulldogs: Josh Addo-Carr (ankle) has been named and will be monitored for a week. Aaron Schoupp is listed as the 18th Player as he looks to return from COVID. If he is right to leave, he will likely replace Braidon Burns, while a replacement has not been named for fullback Jake Averillo (COVID protocol).

Titans: A big boost for the Titans with Jayden Campbell coming off the bench for his first game since Round 13 after recovering from a hamstring injury. He could also be a late inclusion into the early side with AJ Brimson moving from fullback to five-eighth. Captain Tino Fa’asuamaleaui returned to starting position and Erin Clark sat on the bench with Tanah Boyd at five-eighth.

Cowboys v Wests Tigers, Sunday 16:05 at Queensland Country Bank Stadium

cowboy: The return of the Cowboys’ Origin contingent minus Jordan McLean saw Luciano Leilua appointed as a backer to take on his former side. Don’t be surprised if Leilua and Tom Gilbert swap on matchday, with Leilua moving to the edge and Gilbert, impressive on his Origin debut, playing in the middle.

Western Tiger: David Nofoaluma and James Roberts are battling illness and are named in the reserves. If Nofoaluma is right to play, he could replace Starford To’a with Brent Naden — returning from a four-match suspension — shifting from the flanks to the middle. Coach Brett Kimmorley has COVID and will not travel to Townsville, with assistants Ben Gardiner and Nathan Cayless to lead the team.
