Nissan Pathfinder 2023 price and specs: Up to $11,000 more expensive

Nissan’s new Pathfinder family of SUVs gets more technology, safety and practicality than their predecessors – but at a much higher price tag.

It 2023 Nissan Pathfinder will arrive in Australian showrooms before the end of this year with more technology than ever before – but at a much higher price.

Available in four model classes, the new Pathfinder lineup starts at $54,190 plus on-road costs — up $9950, or 22 percent off the base version of Nissan’s base SUV, which was last offered in 2020.

The ranges were re-randomized, with ST-L, Ti and Ti-L values ​​replacing ST+, ST-L and Ti values, in that order. All are powered by the same 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine – with no available hybrid options – and all but the seven-seater Ti-L offers eight.



Comparing the new and old equivalents, the mid-spec ST-L (replacing the ST+) has achieved the biggest upgrade, now priced from $59,990 plus on-road costs – up $11,150, with all-wheel drive compliant.

Prices for the Ti (now the top mid-spec model) have increased by $8350 to $8850 compared to the equivalent older ST-L grade – with the all-wheel-drive Ti now more expensive than the older flagship version, at $67,990 plus on-road costs ( vs $67,140.

The top-of-the-range all-wheel-drive-only Pathfinder Ti-L costs $77,890 plus on-road costs — $10,750 more than the old Ti, and only $5,000 less than Nissan’s flagship Patrol four-wheel drive.



While prices have increased significantly, the level of standard features has increased – as have the car’s safety credentials, and engine and transmission combinations. It’s also worth noting that the last time Pathfinder prices went up was before COVID-19, which has since spiraled global supply chains.

Powering all models is a portable thing 3.5 liter non-turbo petrol V6 engineidentically 202kW and 340Nm old model output, choice of front wheel or all wheel drive, and brake towing capacity of 2700kg.

However, the old CVT has been replaced by a traditional nine-speed automatic transmission (with paddle shifters), which is designed to provide better response and refinement.



There’s a new AWD system – with a revised center clutch package to improve traction – plus seven driving modes (Standard, Sport, Eco, Snow, Sand, Mud/Rut and Tow), and a new electric power steering system.

The electric power steering system enables the installation of Nissan’s ProPilot assisted driving technology on all models except the base model, which combines adaptive cruise control and lane assist to accelerate, brake and center the vehicle in its lane on freeways.

Standard safety features across the range include autonomous emergency braking, fixed lane assist (new vs old Pathfinder), adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear traffic warning, traffic sign recognition (new) and rear low speed auto braking (new) .



Additional features offered in the higher class include ProPilot assisted driving technology, 13-speaker Bose sound system, leather seats, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic glass sunroof, ventilated front seats, digital mirrors and wireless phone charging. .

The two-tone paint scheme is optional on the Ti and Ti-L. A complete list of standard equipment for all models is below.
