It 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid EV (PHEV for short) will go on sale in Australia on August 15, 2022, with prices starting at $54,590 plus on-road fees – up to $9500 more than before.
Based on the new fourth-generation Outlander lineup, Mitsubishi’s new plug-in hybrid offers a larger battery that provides greater range, a more powerful electric motor, significant safety and technology improvements, and at a higher level, seven seats for the first time. .
Four model grades will be available, with starting prices $54,590 plus on-road fees for base ES- $6600 more expensive than PHEV ES outgoingand about $2000 more than the most expensive 2.5-liter petrol version of the new Outlander.

Compared to the equivalent all-wheel-drive petrol variant, the new Outlander PHEV model draws a premium of between $15,500 and $16,100 – a wider gap than the older PHEV, which costs $12,500 to $13,000 more than the equivalent petrol AWD grade.
Five seats are standard on the ES and Aspire variants, while the Exceed and Exceed Tourer get seven seats (stamped as 5+2, indicating a small third row for occasional use).
Turning on the new Outlander PHEV is 98kW 2.4-liter four-cylinder non-turbo gasoline enginefits with Front electric motor 85kW (up from 60kW), Rear electric motor 100kW (up from 70kW), and a 20kWh Baterai battery package, up from 13.8kWh.

The company cites a claimed 84km electric driving range according to light NEDC testing (up from 54km), and a claimed fuel usage figure of 1.5 liters per 100 kilometers (also NEDC). The fuel tank now measures 56 liters, up from the 45L in the previous Outlander PHEV.
New for the new Outlander PHEV is bidirectional charging, which allows the car (with dedicated infrastructure in-house) to send energy from its battery back to the power grid (vehicle-to-grid), or to power properties that are not connected to the grid (vehicle-to-grid). house).
Aspire models and above offer vehicle loading technology, with two 1.5kW (1500W), 240 volt, three pin in-car home electrical outlets that can be used to power camping equipment or other small electrical equipment, from the car battery.
Connecting to a public DC fast charger – albeit with a standard Japanese CHAdeMO plug, rather than the more common CCS socket among European plug-in cars – can deliver an 80 percent charge in 38 minutes.
A 240-volt household wall socket will reportedly complete a 100 percent charge from empty in 12 hours, while a custom home wall charger box can do the same in 6.5 hours.
Four variants of the Outlander PHEV will be available, including the base ES, the mid-spec Aspire, and two flagship classes, the Exceed and the higher-spec Exceed Tourer.
Standard features across the range include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 9.0-inch touchscreen, LED headlights, climate control, eight airbags, and advanced safety features including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring.
Stepping up to a higher level adds convenience such as 20-inch wheels, rear traffic warning, leather seats and steering wheel, heated electric front seats, head-up view, 360-degree camera and panoramic sunroof.
